Celebrate the iconic history of Leica in our 39th annual Leica Oskar Barnack Award photo contest. Photographers of all levels are welcomed to join. Submissions are not limited to photos taken with Leica cameras.

Winners will be honored the Oskar Barnack Award or Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award, plus up to €25,000, Leica M-system, M-lens & more. The awards for the winners in both categories of the 39th Leica Oskar Barnack Award will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in Berlin. The works of the winners and finalists will be displayed in a major exhibition in the ‘Neue Schule für Fotografie’ in Berlin. In addition, the portfolios of the two winners and the finalists presented on the competition website and in the high-quality print magazine published specially for the competition.

To enter, submit a visual story of 10-12 images that encapsulates the interaction between people and the environment with a creative, groundbreaking style. Eligible for submission are series of photographs captured in 2018 and 2019 or work from long-term projects that includes at least some photographs made in this or last year. Entries will be accepted from today through April 1st.

The international jury of experts will be choosing the twelve finalists for the ‘Leica Oskar Barnack Award’ and ‘Leica Oskar Barnack Award Newcomer’.
