„Still life in photography is a double death of things.” We recommend exhibition of Pawel Żak as a salvation. One will experience a perfect representation of reality, yet depicted in a surprisingly abstract way. Glass of vodka, flower and skull – quite a strange mix. In narration made by Paweł Żak this strange mix will change in to full story which is referring to Netherlandish masters.

Landscape for photographs is a topic that is a source of much inspiration. It is connected to the constant human need for documenting the world around them and with historical associations medium of painting. Until the 70s of the twentieth century this relationship was turbulent: full of mutual reproaches and animosity among others. It was associated with attempts to develop new solutions for common heritage.

First, she orgazined a casting call for her doppelgängers. That was the initial step towards creating the artist’s newest photographic series titled I am a Woman and I Feast on Memory. At the core of the work there is Ilona Szwarc herself: as an immigrant, as a woman, as an artist. Each part of the triptych, consisting of sequential portraits, reminisces stage makeup instructional photographs.

Waclaw Wantuch is one of the most recognisable Polish female nude photographers, known primarily for its exploration of geometric and abstract forms of feminine shapes, which he emphasized with studio lights and high contrast. In the latest set of works presented at the exhibition we can see a distinct change in the artist’s vision of the world. Wantuch directs his attention to what is hidden in the shadows, out of a streak of light. By inviting daylight to his studio he accepts unpredictability of the every morning and the fact that sun can not be guided as studio lighting or screens.
