Reflecting the common values of both brands – high end quality and technicality – the Leica X ‘Edition Moncler’ unites aesthetic and technology to create an unmistakeable appeal. Finished with a premium leather trim in a three-colour scheme of blue, white and red, as an homage to the French origins of Moncler, this silver version of the Leica X is an eye-catching must-have for conscious and lovers of both photography and style.

The Leica X ‘Edition Moncler’ is strictly limited to only 1,500 examples for the entire global market. In addition to the camera, the set also includes a case. Designed in typical Moncler way, the padded white pouch refers to the down jackets that made the brand world-famous. It comes complete with a matching camera strap in genuine leather bearing the inscription Leica & Moncler to highlight the collaboration between the two brands. The Leica X ‘Edition Moncler’ will be available from Leica Stores and Boutiques, as well as Moncler flagship stores, from October 2014.

This special-edition camera was first unveiled at the exclusive opening of Monuments, an exhibition by Fabien Baron, Leica and Moncler hosted at Sotheby’s on the 14th October 2014 in London, during Frieze Art. The photographic project by French- AmericanCreative Director also reflects the collaboration between Moncler and Leica Camera AG. Baron’s photographs, captured with the Leica S medium-format camera system, show the spectacular ice and snow-bedecked landscapes of Greenland and express the fascination of nature with which Moncler is also so deeply involved.

The technical specifications of the Leica X ‘Edition Moncler’ are identical to those of the standard production model of the new Leica X camera. The camera features a professional APS-C-format CMOS sensor with over 16.5 megapixels (effective 16.2 megapixels) that, in combination with its fast Leica Summilux 23 mm f/1.7 ASPH. lens, provides enormous creative freedom and guarantees exceptionally brilliant pictures. It also offers a wide range of camera functions, an intuitively simple handling concept and the iconic, premium attributes of Leica product design. The Leica X thus unites everything that defines the art of photography: the joy of seeing unforgettable moments in a particularly personal way.
